eduroam (education roaming) is a service that allows students, researchers, and staff to connect securely to the Internet (wirelessly) in their own organization, or when visiting other participating organizations.

About eduroam

eduroam (contraction of education roaming) is the global secure mobility service developed for the academic and research community. eduroam follows the motto "open your laptop and you are connected".

The service allows students, researchers and staff of the participating institutions to have Internet connectivity through their own campus and when they visit other participating organizations.

eduroam is operated in Spain by RedIRIS, which is in charge of coordinating at the national level the efforts of academic organizations in order to achieve a unique mobility space. A large group of organizations participates in this mobility space that, based on a policy of use and a series of technological and functional requirements, allow their users to move between them, having connectivity at all times.
